The design of the ship is based on a scow. The bottom is slightly V-shaped, but the sides are more convex shaped. This adds to the rigidity of the hull. The bow and stern are made pointed, so that the ship gains in length. It is a one-master, cutter rigged, with two headsails and a top mainsail. Because of its width it is a very stable ship, once it has reached an incline it will not go any further. Because of the bilge keels it is a perfect Wadden Sea ship, when falling dry the ship stands on its keel beam and because of the wide bilge keels she stands like a house. The interior is robust and solid. Last year I had a windvane beam placed under the ship to reduce the drift and that worked out very well. It also makes the ship easier to maneuver.
In 2020, after a collision the Kicker was repaired and partially repainted by Slot Jachtbouw. Underwater hull was treated in 2020.
