Description Akerboom Bakdekkruiser 1500

A very attractive, sturdy, and completely renovated classic deck cruiser. The ship was likely built in the 1930s by the renowned Akerboom shipyard, modeled after the English “Gentleman’s Yachts” and executive vessels that were built at that time for wealthy gentlemen. In 1952, the vessel was refitted by the Henk de Haas shipyard in Maassluis and was fitted with a fixed wheelhouse. It was likely at that time that the hull number 88 was applied.
The owner has lovingly restored absolutely everything on this beautifully proportioned vessel. It was completely stripped down, inside and out, and painted using a two-component system. All windows have been replaced with custom-made Hora windows featuring aluminum frames.
New, solid teak decks have been installed throughout the yacht, the interior has been refurbished, the engine has been overhauled (there was very little wrong with it, by the way), a stern thruster has been installed, the bow thruster has been replaced, and the list goes on. A photo album is coming soon, which will showcase much of the restoration.
In 2026, the hull will be recoated with antifouling paint, and all anodes will be replaced.
The owner will continue sanding and painting the woodwork in the coming period, and a new floor will be installed in the wheelhouse.
As a yacht broker, I would love to see this yacht go to someone who will maintain it with just as much love and respect for the work of the current owner.
If you are the gentleman or lady looking for something unique, I would be delighted to invite you for a viewing. Please call (+31) 06-21993488
